Findlay Fraher was founded in 2016 by Joe and James.

Joe is an Architect, having founded his own architectural practice in 2013. Executing complicated projects for many clients enabled him to identify opportunities to create value through development – optimising value and creating great homes to live in.

James is a Lawyer who has spent a large portion of his career running the corporate group of one of the major international law firms, as well as other businesses. On meeting Joe, he decided to turn his hobby for design into a business. James has a long track record of managing large teams of people and delivering profitable businesses. 

Their combined experience enables them to be involved in all aspects of property development. From procuring sites, architectural design and planning consents, through to site construction, project management and cost control - our integrated development process enables us to mitigate risk and enables the delivery of a great completed product. Great design drives all that we do- we are proud of all we develop.


James Findlay Robertson

Chief Executive

A corporate lawyer and head of corporate law for over a decade at Taylor Wessing LLP, one of the largest international law firms with 33 international offices. James also sat on the Board of Taylor Wessing LLP for more than a decade. He sits on the Boards of a number of companies including a boutique hotel company Global Hotels and Resorts which has interests in 13 hotels throughout Europe. James is also a trustee and Director of one of London's largest property companies and Chairman of a luxury travel company, Fello Travel. James comes from a family of Architects and has enjoyed doing a number of personal renovation projects. James is passionate about design and architecture. 


Joe Fraher

Managing Director

With two decades experience of the construction industry and Masters in both Architecture and Engineering Joe has gained a wealth of experience in the full value chain of the build cycle. With interests in Architecture, joinery and construction it was a natural step to property development and management. As a ARB registered Architect Joe oversees our larger scale developments, whilst developing our bespoke contract offering. Joe's eye for detail and in depth construction knowledge ensures that all projects are managed to exacting standards, whilst utilising creative design solutions.


Ruth Marie Mackrodt

Commercial Director

Twenty years working in International Banking and a further decade running a private Family Office, Ruth Marie understands how to deliver a first class property service. She has purchased, managed and developed a broad range of properties for clients throughout her career and brings organisational management to our complex projects. Her love of good design is matched by her enjoyment of completing projects on time and on budget. Ruth Marie's role is to oversee the delivery of seamless, transparent and high quality property services to our clients which integrates the quality of design and the technological know-how of the Findlay Fraher Group.


Mathew Wilson

Interaction Design Director

Mathew is dedicated to the pursuit of improving user experience in all aspects of work, life and living, and has carried this mission through 19 years of working online, within the digital and service design sectors. Most notably, Mathew co-founded and directed the digital agency With Associates which he ran for 12 years, developing numerous content management and workflow systems, for a diverse range of clients and charities. Today, alongside joining the team at Findlay Fraher, Mathew is also a tutor at Kingston University, leading on interaction and experience project strands and outreach.


Philippa Trant

Operations Director

A senior management consultant with a strong track record of delivery and established client relationships during 10 years of consulting experience at Accenture. Philippa has a wide ranging skill sets in areas of leadership, process improvement, business negotiation and decision making. Philippa quickly builds rapport and trust with clients, peers and team members. From sites visits to board meetings, Philippa provides us with leadership and direction overseeing delivery of all company activities. Philippa’s position as Operations Director builds on her roles at her successful family business Trant Engineering & Construction and experiences of her own property renovations.


Matthew Fraher

Marketing + HR

After studying Economics and French, Matt began his career helping creative businesses with financial management and reporting. After leaving the City in 2015, Matt joined Fraher Architects as Head of Finance and Marketing, overseeing the day to day financial operation and promotion of an award winning Studio. In addition, Matt also consults for a luxury RTW label, responsible for brand management and International sales. Matt has a keen interest in urban development, specifically relating to unlocking overlooked pocket sites within London.
